Very central , but breakfast bar very small and was usually full
Top Tip
Make it your base - all sights well within walking except perhaps The Vatican
(take taxi/bus) but not open bus tours - too expensive

No lounge.sitting area or garden.
Breakfast room far too cramped
yesterdays bread served each day for breakfast
On arrival we were "stuffed" into a noisy dark and dingy gound floor room in an adjacent building with entry direct onto the street. We asked to be moved into the hotel the 2nd night. if they had refused we would have found a different hotel !!!!

no hot water in the morning. main boiler is empty already after 07.30 am. the hotel was completely overbooked. several people were send to another location, 1,5 km away. staff is not interested. in the morning, between 07.30 - 09.00 am., not enough tables for breakfast. central heating in bathroom not working. room 107. we didn't watch pay tv but they tried to charge us 11 euro for watching one of the channels.

When we arrived at the Hotel Trevi we were told that they were overbooked for the first night and could not accommmodate us. We were taken to the Hotel Anglo Americano which was without doubt THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN, IN THE WHOLE WORLD!! I feel that for one night I paid 4 star rate for a 1 star hotel.

The hotel is located about 50 metres from the Trevi which is excellent, once you run the gauntlet of tourists its a very convenient locations. However, having requested a smoking room on a high floor, when we arrived we were taken down the road to a room in an entirely different building, access immediately of an alleyway to a room the size of a shoe box. We asked for twin beds, as two single travellers, but we got two singles right besides each other with no room between, not ideal for travelling friends. Recommend the Hotel from location point of view and nearby attractions, but the room was dreadful for £150 for the night. As stated, very good location right by the Trevi, not terribly far from the best shopping in roma, the spanish steps, piazza de poppolo, piazza navona and the patheon. Plenty of brilliant caffe's and restaurants nearby, but beware of tourist prices in many of them, follow the locals, plenty seem to eat in this area so follow them.

Double booked on arrival and told we would be put up elsewhere for one night before returning to hotel for nights 2 & 3. After considerable fuss (it was our Ruby Wedding Celebration) we were put up in annexe room just across the street for all three nights. Apart from having to walk down dingy corridor to access stairs and lift, the annexe room was fine and airconditioned. Recomendation to other travellers is "Yes" but with caution not to expect too much. However, one doesn't spend too much time in the hotel in Rome. Location is excellent. Don't try to find hotel on foot for the first time. Fortunately, the hotel's breakfast is not representative of Italian food!

Split visit to Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica over two mornings. Sight-seeeing circular Red Bus 110 is excellent
